El Gran Sabor is a favorite venue for some of the finest regional and local musicians. Not to mention the occasional nationally recognized musicians that drop in on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Every Thursday is "Open Mike Night."
Music usually begins around 7:00 - 7:30 pm

Some of the regulars are listed below.
Connie Townsend
Connie Townsend grew up in western West Virginia but now lives, according to her liner notes, "in the heart of the West Virginia mountains,". Her rustic, plaintive, lovely folk reflects the beauty of her chosen habitat.

Dave Parker
Connie and Dave are award-winning songwriters. Together they provide a wide range of music from country blues and swing tunes to a more traditional sound.

Rose Bell
Connie's daughter, Rose Bell, accompanies The Ginsangers on fiddle and harmony vocals. Rose's fiddle arrangement of Amazing Grace can be heard on the Dualtone companion CD to the PBS documentary film,The Appalachians.

Rachel Franks
Rachel is from a family of five very talented musicians that make up Franks Family Funk. Her sultry blues vocals capture the listeners attention!

Seth Young
Seth is a creative director and operates an educational music recording program.
A man with a wide range of musical talent.

Erin Young
Blackwater Mojo is Erin and Seth Young.
Erin is a cool chick. She married the greatest guy on earth, and is very happy living and creating music with him.

Pam Roberts
Pam Roberts brings her soulful blues to the house on a regular basis. This multi-talented artist currently resides in Elkins where she also makes silver jewelry pen and ink drawings and watercolors.

Rob Masten
One of the benefits of owning a music venu is being able to sit in with diverse group of musicians on a regular basis ... and he's certainly up to the task! He is also a music teacher in the public school system and manager of the Icehouse at D & E College!

Billy Kaiser
Jazz Guitarist Billy Kaiser has backed up the best and continues to do so with The Appalachian Jazz Ensemble!

Michael Kline
Michael and Carrie Nobel Kline operate Talking Across the Lines: Worldwide Conversations, LLC, a folklife documentary consulting and production firm.

Carrie Kline
Michael and Carrie are themselves a musical duo, performing tight, high mountain harmonies of traditional Appalachian and contemporary songs on guitar and voice.

Pete Tenney
Musician Pete Tenney is a regular house performer along with Blain Stevens.

Blain Stevens
Blain Stevens and Pete Tenney have entertained at the El Gran Sabor since the beginning.

Bo McMillion
Solo acoustic musician Bo McMillion also performs with local bands including Groovin' Brothers and Solar Plexus. During the week you find him teaching music, band, and chorus to grades 5-8 in the public school system.

Doug Van Gundy
Doug learned to play the traditional fiddle and banjo music of West Virginia from his older neighbors and friends, and delights in carrying their music out into the world.

Paul Gartner
Born Old is Doug Van Gundy and Paul Gartner. They have been playing together since 1997, and have learned or stolen from the best traditional musicians in the state of WV.
